Where they differ
Their framing is the argument
TrueNorth's own documentation describes the problem it solves as traders having analysis they do not trust enough to act on. That is an honest and unusually clear statement of the real bottleneck. The two products answer it differently. TrueNorth answers it with rigour: more data sources, structured output, charts over text, explicit entry, stop and target. Fere answers it with evidence: the strategy runs once as a dry run and shows you the order it would have placed, then paper-trades, then goes live under a cap — trust earned by watching it be right on your own screen rather than by the quality of the reasoning. If better analysis is what would convince you, TrueNorth is aimed squarely at that. If only a track record would, the ladder is the mechanism.
Two MCPs, doing different things
Both products connect to Claude and ChatGPT over MCP, which makes the surface look identical from inside an assistant. What comes back is not. TrueNorth's MCP returns research and structured plans. Fere's returns research and can also place the swap, set the levels and schedule the strategy, out of a non-custodial wallet provisioned during OAuth.
