⚠️ About Stop-Loss — The Hard Truth
Polymarket has NO native stop-loss. That's not a gap I can fix — it's how the platform works. Here's what I can actually do:
Option A: GTC Limit Sell (what I can set)
- Place a GTC SELL order at a price you specify right now
- Example: If you buy Netherlands YES @ $0.05 and want to cap losses at -20%, I'd place a GTC sell @ $0.04
- It sits on the book until filled — no automatic trigger
- Risk: Price gaps through your stop level with no guarantee of fill
Option B: Monitoring Script (what I can build)
- A Python script that polls the orderbook every N minutes
- If price drops below your stop level → places a GTC sell automatically
- You'd run it via
strategy_builderor as a cron job - Risk: Not real-time; depends on polling frequency
Option C: Conservative Position Sizing
- Never bet more than X% of your bankroll on a single match
- This is the most reliable "stop-loss" — size your bets so one loss doesn't hurt---
What Do You Want to Do Next?
- Tell me your stop-loss % — e.g. "cut losses at -20% from entry" and I'll build a monitoring script
- Tell me your bankroll — how much of the $29.37 you want to deploy and on what type of markets
- I can also set GTC limit sells right now on any new positions you want to take
